Thomson Batam is currently looking for: Field Service Engineers Responsibilities: - You play the role of Customer Technical Interface and reference for Thomson and Grass Valley on Automation products and systems. You are responsible to attend to customers’ needs and provide front line support to the customers. You will provide technical support and advice in the installation, commissioning and maintenance for a wide range of Broadcast equipment, Video Server, Networking and Mpeg systems. You will follow up on customers’ inquiries timely, interface with engineering and third parties in bug submission, replication and resolution to ensure customer systems and integration issues are resolved.
- Your other responsibilities include identification of service products, sales opportunities within the region and working closely with the Regional Service and Account Managers in closing the accounts.
- Successful candidates will be sent to Europe or US for product / technical training.
Requirements: - Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma or Professional Degree in IT/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent with at least 3 years’ relevant working experience.
- Knowledge and working experience in Broadcast (Mpeg System) / Telecommunication or computer networking will be advantageous.
- Possess IT skills in base PC, Windows NT, W2K, XP, Dos and Serial Analyzer as well as Network skills in 100BaseT, 1000BaseT and Fiber Link. Must be able to read, write and converse in English.
- Good communication and analytical skills with strong customer service-oriented attitude.
- Have initiative and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Must be prepared and available on-call as primary and/or backup resource support and be ready to travel when required.
- A good team player.
